Operating at our Harmon Park facility from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Mon. through Fri., the afterschool program focuses more on academics and mentoring than our Summer Program. Beyond mentoring & tutoring, Eureka Kids After school Program offers the same advantages to youth as our Summer Program. Computer Lab, Snacks, Recreation, Games, Arts & More!
Summer Program . . .
The Eureka Kids summer program is for youth 5- 12 years old. Our home base is the Harmon Park Community Center at 530 Spring Street, except for the field trips and visits to the lake. Summer Program activities include a variety of cooperative games.
A craft option is offered on most days through out the week. In the afternoons children will participate in Service Learning projects as well as drug and alcohol prevention programs. Movies are sometimes shown on rainy days. Field trips such as Fun Spot are planned weekly. Special events such as the National Kids Day, Pepsi Pitch Hit and Run and the Junior Olympics are also planned weekly.
On Fridays we spend the day at Lake Leatherwood. Members must be dropped off and picked up at the Lake. Members must also have their membership card and Eureka Kids t-shirt at the lake. Members without their EK t-shirt will be given another and parents will be billed 5.00 for the use of the shirt. Shirt must be returned or the full shirt price will be billed.
Dates and Times
Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Members who need to can be dropped off as early as 7:30 a.m. and must be picked up no later than 5:30 p.m. 7:30 – 8:00 and 5:00 – 5:30 This is 5.00 per day per child.
Fees
The fee is $45 per weeklong session of the program. There is also a $20 annual membership fee. The program fee includes most activities and field trips unless otherwise noted. The membership fee is non refundable. Registration priority is given to families with children returning to the summer program and children already in the Eureka Kids program. Youth will also be given a summer program t-shirt which must be worn on all trips off club property. There may some opportunities for ages 10 and up to register for additional offsite activities such as canoeing for an additional charge.
Additional members of same family
We do offer discounts for additional family members. Scholarships and volunteer opportunities are available for families to offset camp costs.
Cancellation Policy
Parents who cancel before May 4 will receive a full refund minus a $50 administrative fee. After May 4, and before June 4, parents will receive a 50% refund minus a $50 administrative fee. From June 4, until the end of the program (August 25 ) program fees are not refundable. Any change made to your camp registration will incur a $25 fee. If the Eureka Kids cancels an event or trip for any reason, you will receive a credit or a full refund.
Payment Method
To reserve a place for your child at our Summer Program, payment must be received in full or through a signed payment plan. Payment must be by either check or cash . The monthly plans will be processed on the first of each month in equal amounts. Registration and payment of fees must be current for your youth to attend. Fees are due prior to the start of the week your child will attend. No credit is given for days absent.

Health and Safety
Half of the camp day is spent outdoors, playing, swimming or walking to and from activities. Counselors ensure that children apply sunscreen throughout the day. Please include sunscreen and a water bottle in your child's backpack.
Field Trips
Most of our camps include trips away from the home base facility. Every youth is required to wear a Eureka Kids camp t-shirt. Utmost care is taken for the safety of your child and our field trip sites have been prescreened by our staff.
Meals
Meals are provided here at Eureka Kids. We serve Breakfast, Lunch and snack each day Youth may not bring food from home. Dietary needs will be provided for if it is an allergy and a Doctors note is presented. This facility does serve nuts as a protein source. Nutmeats are present in the kitchen where meals are prepared and served.
Parents are also required to volunteer 15 hours during the summer to make the program a success and enhance your members summer experience. Parents who will be unable to give those hours must notify us prior to camp start. You will be billed for each hour at 10.00 per hour. Parents who do not notify us prior to the start of the summer will be billed at 20.00 per hour for each hour not completed.
